About Us

A little about Offerton Farm Nursery

Exploring the environment

There has been a nursery at Offerton Farm since 1990. It was established in the farmhouse kitchen with 8 children and was known as the Red Door Kindergarten. Initially run during term time with ‘Fun Weeks’ for school children during the school holidays, it gradually expanded until it became apparent that it was growing out of the premises.

A farm building was converted with the aim of providing high quality full day care. In September 1996 we opened the doors to our first children in our new purpose built building and renamed ourselves Offerton Farm Nursery.

Offerton Farm is a working farm and can thus offer endless opportunities for outdoor activities. These are all considered a vital aspect of learning. Their own section of the garden and extensive grounds and woodland provide an environment in which the children can note the changing seasons at first hand.

As well as a large, pleasant garden and a good supply of outdoor equipment, the children have the opportunity for farm walks to observe the animals and explore the countryside.
